Transitioning to a Manager

When I received a call from my mentor, approaching for a Project Manager role for his company, I asked myself, why not?

When I joined Webpoint , it was a small start-up with about 10-12 employees. I had to take over multiple projects and function both as a QA and a Project Manager. We worked together to build the company processes and policies and in a year we became an energetic bunch of 60+ people. I also crafted the Project Management Guidelines, groomed new PM trainees, and conducted several Knowledge Sharing Sessions.

From here, I learned time management and handling multiple projects simultaneously. The Projects I managed were big and complex.

NEWSTART is a lifestyle management application for both web and mobile. It was one of the biggest project with many deliverables and stakeholders. With 15+ members in the team, we always managed to deliver timely milestones, crush bugs, prepare demos and most importantly have fun.

Luminate is an audio streaming application with everything you can ask for in an audio player! It was an enlightening experience to build all the niche features using qualitative and quantitative data through user interviews and application usage metrics.

Having delivered many projects, I was invested in building impactful products, features and solutions overall. I started sitting with stakeholders for building product roadmap, strategies, and performing market research for continuous improvement of the product.
